About Us

Calvary Baptist Church started as a result of the call of God that was placed upon the Bell family to come to Sanford, Maine to see a fundamental Baptist Church planted. After knocking on doors in the area and handing out some 6,000 invitations, services began. At first, progress seemed to be very slow but now the blessings of God are evident. Over the years the nucleus has grown. A number of these people have placed their faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and have been saved. Others were out of church but now have  committed their lives to Christ afresh.        For many years, Pastor Bell has had a strong burden to start a Christian school. In the fall of 2010, Sanford Christian Academy began its first year. Our goal at Sanford Christian Academy is to train up godly young people to serve the Lord with all their hearts.
